About David Tittle
David Tittle is Interim Chief Executive of MADE, an architecture and built environment centre based in Birmingham and working in the English Midlands and beyond. It exists to promote quality place-making, to ensure that cities, towns and villages become better places to live, work and play.
David became Chief Executive in September 2010. He was previously Head of Design Excellence, managing MADE’s design review and support programmes. David is a project manager and trainer who has worked in the field of urban design, enterprise and community development. David discovered urban design while working at the Civic Trust (a national charity for the built environment) and later founded R99, a company specialising in urban design training for local authorities and others. He has designed, managed and delivered a number of training programmes for CABE, Urban Design London and individual local authorities.
He is also manager of the annual International Urban Design Summer School which is now run by MADE. David has a diploma in Urban Design from Birmingham City University. He is a committee member for the Coventry Society, company secretary for an award-winning building preservation trust and a trustee of Civic Voice. He is a fellow of the RSA.
